| Our History |

|
It all started when we got our first TV producer station in Aracajú - SE.
This first station allowed us to reach baptized but not evangelized people by cable TV, parabolic system and especially by ordinary TV system through signal repeaters.
This TV station allowed us to engage in the compromise of evangelizing people through the media (see more in our History).
We are a non-profit organization, thus you can imagine how hard it was to pay the expenses for the new TV station. It was Saint John Bosco, Priest and Founder of the Salesians, who inspired us with his philosophy. He said, “Just give me the souls: you may keep all the rest for you”. We decided to follow his steps to achieve our goal.
With the help of our members and their donations, we could pay that first TV station. Since then we have never stopped growing and nowadays Canção Nova TV System counts on 127 cable TV operators and 209 repeaters. We broadcast our evangelization programming 24-hours a day to the whole American Continent, Western Europe and Northern Africa through TV signal, satellite and cable TV. We also count on five producer stations installed in Cachoeira Paulista (Sao Paulo State), Aracaju (Sergipe State), Fortaleza(Ceara State), Rio de Janeiro(Rio de Janeiro State) and Brasília(Distrito Federal).
It was not a personal project, it was and it is God’s project. We can quote what Pope Pius XI said about John Bosco during his sanctification: "in his life the supernatural almost became the natural and the extraordinary ordinary." That is what Cancao Nova represents: a great miracle renewed every day for over 25 years through the generosity of our members.
When you become a member, when you contribute to our project “Give me souls”, you are in fact giving Cancao Nova Missionaries new breath to go ahead and preach the Gospel to the whole world. You also become a missionary with us: an Apostle of modern times!
