On the eve of His death, Jesus comforts the disciples with the big promise: "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—the Spirit of truth" (John 14:16-18); and shortly before going up to heaven, confirms: "In a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."(Acts 1:5) "until you have been clothed with power from on high."(Luke 24:49).
The Holy Spirit, with his impulses, with his gifts, surpass the congenital limitations of the man and in him infuses light, love, power, besides his natural capacities. Therefore, it's not the Christian that takes initiatives of his faith, of his charity and other virtues; it's the Holy Spirit that puts them directly in practice, infusing in him his light and his power: "until you have been clothed with power from on high." (Luke 24:49).
Let us pray, today, along the day:
Come, Holy Spirit, come donor of the goods!
Jesus, in You I trust!
